Tell Obama To Uphold Human Rights

November 11, 2008 at 6:24 pm (injustice, neat things, politics)

Dan of Revolutionary Act and Fitness for the Occasion has started a petition to urge Obama to uphold human rights:

Dear President Elect Barack Obama,

We enthusiastically supported your run for our nation’s highest office. We have elected and put our trust in you. One of the cornerstone’s of the campaign was the respect for the rule of law and human rights that has been missing during George W Bush’s terms of office.

We the undersigned ask that you make certain the rule of law, civil rights and human rights form the rock your administration rests on.

Torture, Domestic Spying and Indefinite Detention are incompatible with the campaign of hope and change we were all a part of.

Read more about why Dan started the petition here. And please tell Obama that the Americans who elected him won’t stand for such illegal, unethical practices.
