Sachiko Kodama’s Magnetic Oil Sculptures

August 13, 2008 at 10:27 am (amazing things, art, movies/video/clips, neat things)

Via boing Boing Gadgets, here’s an amazing video of a sculpture by Sachiko Kodama. It’s made of ferrofluid: magnetically charged liquid, maneuvered and contorted by electromagnets. The effect is incredibly strange and beautiful. All those smooth, shining black surfaces, those perfect shapes — it doesn’t look real.

You can watch another video of Kodama’s work here.
