BEDUP: Space-Efficient Bed

March 9, 2008 at 11:14 am (design/gadget lust, neat things)

Here’s a cool new take on the classic Murphy bed concept. The difference is that BEDUP, instead of folding into a wall, perches up in the ceiling. You can see from the pictures that this is likely to work better for someone trying to create a dual-use space: the bed can be lowered right over a desk without disturbing it. Most wall-mounted beds require some rearranging to set up, but this one looks pretty effortless. You can even leave it fully made, pillows and all, while its up. See a video (site in French) of it in action, complete with a cute pug admiring its functionality.

Or you could just scrap tables and chairs and eat breakfast in bed everyday.
