Dangerous Ground

December 5, 2007 at 9:45 am (frightening things) ()

“For millions of people, the ground is a dangerous place to be.” An anti-landmine activist and traceur is working with the Dangerous Ground Project to raise awareness for the cause of making the world’s ground safe for everyone to walk on by crossing all of London* without touching the ground. Much of what can be found on the organization’s website is absolutely mesmerizing. Like this commercial.

I always did like games of “don’t touch the ground” as a kid. Funny, I only found out this past year or so that it’s actually a culturally established activity that many don’t outgrow.

*Why is his travel measured in square miles, though? That doesn’t make sense, in terms of this activity, right?
