My life is ruled by a plastic box.

After three years of wonderful use, my darling iBook G4 died suddenly yesterday afternoon. Apparently a minor manufacturing defect caused a tiny chip to eventually come dislodged somewhere inside my laptop’s body. There will be no funeral, but tears were shed. I’m currently planning to remove the keyboard — I wore off many of the letters — and use it in some kind of way. Perhaps as part of a purse.

My parents are replacing it with a MacBook (sweeeeet) around the time of my upcoming birthday, so I will be back in the blogging business in the middle of next week (Thursday at the very latest). Until then, I’m sure Emily will do an excellent job covering my Apple-loving behind.

Having lost a half dozen computer pets in the last 30 years, I can feel your pain. Don’t worry though, the new one always replaces “old sparky” in a short time…

The scientifically impossible I do right away
The spiritually miraculous takes a bit longer

Thanks, Clap and Neil! I’m sure you two are right.
